Question - "I would really like to buy a holiday home in Spain but I am scared by all the recent news stories about people having their houses knocked down and leaving them with nothing – all their life savings gone in one go. Can you tell me how I can make sure that any property I buy is OK and will be mine for life – hopefully one I can pass on to my son and daughter-in-law?"

Question - "Can you tell me when a developer should hand over the title deeds to you when buying on a large complex? I am buying an off-plan three-bedroom villa in Cyprus and I want to make sure that it will be a freehold property when I finally pay the last sum of money to the developer. I want to be able to sell it at any time I feel like it. I do have an independent lawyer as you magazines are always saying, but he says the title deed is not ready yet. What should I do?"

Question - "My husband and I are in our mid sixties. We wish to keep our UK house but to purchase a holiday home in France. As we don’t have much money we are considering sharing a purchase with friends who are in a similar position. Preferably we will buy a largish house with barns or other houses around that can be converted (our friend is very good at renovation) and we will have one of them. As long as we do it at the time of the initial purchase, can we split a purchase agreement in some way so that if we decide to sell or to leave our house in a will to my son there is no problem in the future (and in this case should we use a French or English will?)"

Question - "I have bought a one bed apartment in the fishing resort of Lakeside Park in Varna and would like to know what you think of the area as an investment? Also, who do you think I should aim at in terms of renting in out? Locals or holiday makers?"
